Narval CC device resembles a mouth guard. However, is is customized by a dentist to move the jaw to a forward position during sleep. This helps to prevent snoring and obstructive pauses during sleep. It is also called a mandibular repositioning device (MRD)

Furthermore, the Narval CC was also demonstrated to improve sleep apnea symptoms and quality of life.

In order to get a sleep apnea device or other mandibular repositioning device (MRD), like the Narval, you should seek assistance from a dentist and/or physician who has experience in sleep disorders and sleep apnea. A trained sleep dentist will evaluate you to assess your eligibility for the sleep apnea oral appliance.

Sleep apnea is a potentially deadly sleep disorder that is characterized by snoring, pauses in breathing during sleep, excessive daytime sleepiness, and other symptoms. Those who have untreated obstructive sleep apnea are at higher risk of heart attacks, strokes, heart complications, and deadly car accidents.

The benefits of the Narval CC dental device is that is very lightweight and less bulky. These features ultimately lead to higher comfort. Higher comfort levels obviously lead to higher compliance and better treatment outcomes.

The Narval CC also articulates between the top piece and bottom piece. This simply means that it moves – which allows for talking and drinking.

Patients who are evaluated for sleep apnea oral appliances often undergo a sleep study, or HST home sleep test. This is necessary for a diagnosis of sleep apnea. Patients often have a second sleep test with oral appliance therapy in place to determine the device’s efficacy.

The Narval cc MRD is adjustable in 1 mm increments by up to 15 mm of protrusion. This means that the lower part can be moved forward, per a sleep dentist’s recommendation, in order to reduce or eliminate pauses in breathing and snoring.

They are indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea, and also for severe sleep apnea in patients who are unable to use CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) “sleep apnea machine”.

In studies, eighty percent of users of the Narval sleep apnea device wore it seven nights per week during a 6-week treatment trial. Night time compliance evaluation demonstrated that the device was used for 6.2 nights per week over an 18 month period.

My Narval device has been fantastic. I’ve had it for about 5 years. I brush my Narval device with baking soda daily. For occasional deep cleaning, can I soak it in white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide?

I would like to purchase a very light NARVAL oral appliance and need to know the procedure and the price. I would appreciate all information you can provide me.
I have sleep apnea, I have used CPAP, and it is now more than a year that I am using oral appliance instead. I am not happy with the mouth appliance that I have now, it is not comfortable, thick and kind of heavy. I have Medicare, AARP supplement and dental Insurance.
    Thank you
