SoClean is a CPAP cleaner and sanitizer machine that automatically cleans and dries parts of the CPAP and BiPAP machine by using activated oxygen.

If you use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea, you’re already taking a step on improving your health. But part of having a CPAP machine involves routine cleaning, otherwise, you may be harming your health, rather than improving it.

CPAP machines typically require daily cleaning of the water chamber and mask, and at least weekly cleaning of the tubing, depending on the manufacturer. Cleaning usually consists of warm water with a mild soap, and always letting the parts hang to air-dry thoroughly to prevent bacteria or fungi from forming.

The amount of time it takes to clean and completely dry a CPAP can be time consuming and because of this, many people with CPAPs are not compliant with daily care.

Fortunately, there are now cleaners on the market that can clean and sanitize your CPAP machine for you, and in a lot less time.

SoClean CPAP sanitizer

The SoClean is a CPAP sanitizer that does not use chemicals and water. It uses activated oxygen to sanitize, just like in a hospital setting. When this device generates activated oxygen, it pumps it through your CPAP mask, hose, and reservoir. Activated oxygen is known to kill germs and bacteria it comes into contact with. This machine is 99.9 percent effective in killing the germs in your CPAP machine.

SoClean CPAP Cleaner

What sets the SoClean apart from other CPAP cleaners is the ease of use. To use, you simply place your CPAP mask inside the SoClean device, close the lid, and it will start cleaning and sanitizing automatically. You won’t even need to disconnect the mask or tubing from your CPAP.

The SoClean CPAP cleaner easily connects to most PAP devices, and if it is not compatible, they offer an adapter you can add onto your purchase, with no extra charge. Their website offers a list of common CPAP machines and whether it will need an adapter or not.

SoClean CPAP Cleaner Factors:

  • Cleaning cycle time of 2 hours
  • The manufacturer offers a 30-day risk-free trial and free shipping
  • Financing is available
  • A cartridge filter kit needs to be replaced annually at a cost of about $30.

SoClean Coupons and Discounts

SoClean merchants sometimes offer coupons and discounts. If there are any live coupons or deals, we will try to list them here. With the increasing popularity of CPAP and increasing awareness of sleep apnea, equipment manufacturers regularly try new marketing tactics in order to gain market share. Machine discounts and coupons are one of the ways that they try to compete.

SoClean CPAP Cleaner Reviews

One thing many reviewers of the SoClean agreed on was the ease of use. It’s very easy to set up, as well as easy to use on a daily basis. Some reviewers also mentioned that it’s great for some elderly people that don’t understand technology since all you have to do is open and close the lid; it does the work on its own.

SoClean 2 CPAP Cleaner

Many SoClean users admitted they weren’t in the habit of cleaning their CPAP machines as much as they should, and the SoClean was “worth the money” and is now helping them be compliant with daily cleanings.

One SoClean purchaser mentioned that he’s always struggled with cleaning and drying the hose, and sometime’s he would wake up feeling like he was “drowning in water.” He stated that this machine has solved all of his problems and now he sleeps like a baby.

Other benefits mentioned from using the SoClean CPAP cleaner are fewer respiratory infections, improved cough, and a fresher smelling machine and mask. There are other techniques that people can use to clean the CPAP machine.

Just started using SoClean and I wish I had bought one sooner. It’s so easy and works great , I have a clean unit every night with no hassle of taking everything apart and washing ” which I admit I didn’t do as often as I should have”. I feel much better knowing my mask is clean with no odors and safer to use . Excellent product !!!

I have a ResMed VPAP Adapt SV. Is it compatible with the Soclean machine?

    • Christine Pefine Reply

      Good Morning Sandra,

Great questions. If you indeed have a ResMed AirCurve then yes, the SoClean will work just fine with appropriate adapter. AutoSV or ASV is a “ventilator mode” on a PAP machine used for treating Complex or Central Sleep Apnea.
Because the concern for the health and safety of our customers. Our primary obligation, we will not endorse use of the SoClean with a true ventilator.

I use nasal pillows instead of a mask. Does SoClean work with this as well?

    • Christine Pefine Reply

      Good Day,

SoClean doesn’t recommend putting nylon, memory foam, gel, or natural rubber into the machine. Please take a moment to review your manufacturers guideline around what your specific nasal pillows are made of.

I read that SoClean recommends removing the memory foam from the mask before putting it on the cleaner. This is not possible on my husbands mask. Does this mean he cannot use the SoClean ?

    • Christine Pefine Reply

      Hello Lindy,

Yes, Memory Foam Cushion must be removed before putting the headgear into the SoClean. The Memory Foam cushion should be cleaned in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.

I work in a sleep lab & frequently have my patients ask about your product. My main question is: facial oils are left in the mask each night. Does this clean those off as well or does the mask need wiped down or something to remove these oils?

    • Christine Pefine Reply

      Hello Natalie,

The SoClean will inhibit facial oil build-up, but it will not remove the oils. Although the SoClean will sanitize and kill any germs, bacteria or other pathogens on your mask, some inert residue can be left behind. You may need to wipe off your mask from time to time, or even use the pre-wash provided.

Can a SoClean machine be shared by multiple CPAP user? Is it safe or is there a risk of getting another person’s germs.

    • Christopher Thompson Reply

      Hi Rita,

Thank you for asking! We do not recommend sharing a SoClean.

The SoClean is designed to stay connected to one CPAP machine. You can clean two CPAP machines; however, you will need to disconnect and reconnect your CPAP equipment. This would be extremely cumbersome and not recommended.

should I leave my cpap on during so clean operation?

    • Christine Pefine Reply

      Hello Robb,

Please make sure your CPAP is turned off although you should not have to disconnect anything – that is the wonderful thing about the SoClean. Once you have it set up, you can leave it until you have to replace your CPAP hose. In some cases when used with a heated hose adapter, you may have to disconnect the water chamber to fill with water.

      Thank you,
      Christine Pefine

Activated Oxygen is Ozone. How safe is and how much is the exposure to Ozone after the machine is done cleaning the CPAP and tubing?
Is there any additive effect every time the machine is used and how much are pets and other individuals exposed to Ozone gas?

    • Christine Pefine Reply

      Hi Bertha,

Activated oxygen, also called ozone or O3 occurs in nature. It is produced and used commercially in applications for sanitizing produce, waste and drinking water. The SoClean is designed to keep the activated oxygen enclosed in your CPAP equipment and the secure chamber. When the sanitizing process is complete, the ozone turns back into regular oxygen. By the time you open the chamber it will have decreased to 0 ppm.

I have been using the SoClean two for 8 months now. Overall, I use it everyday. The smell people complain about is how it sterilizes the mask – and tubing – and water tank. So? When I put the mask on, I purposely let it leak for 3-5 seconds. Problem solved.
