When you send out the patient information packets, add a cancelation page that states that if they do not cancel in 24hrs or is a no-show they will be charges $150.

I have also implemented a "short list" that is a list of patients that don’t mind coming in last minute. If a patient cancels or hasn’t shown in a reasonable amount of time, start the calling shortlist.

Also, let the refering physician’s office know when a patient doesn’t show. Sometimes the MD will motivate them not to skip out again. Hope this helps.
