The American Sleep Association is proud to announce its partnership with The Huffington Post and Arianna Huffington in their efforts to educate the public about the importance of sleep and the dangers of sleep deprivation.
Almost a decade ago, Huffington suffered a collapse from inadequate sleep. Since then, it has been her mission to share with others the importance of sleep.
From Huffington’s new book “The Sleep Revolution“:
“Sleep is a fundamental and non-negotiable human need. Sleep allows us to see the world with fresh eyes and reinvigorated spirit. We may be what we eat, but also, to be sure, we are how we sleep.”
As part of Huffington’s multi-faceted campaign, she has started an online pledge to reduce drowsy driving and the consequences of falling asleep at the wheel. Every year, there are over a million car accidents that are associated with excessive sleepiness.
Take the Pledge to Not Drive Drowsy
HuffPost team has also launched a 50-college campus tour across the country to educate students about the importance of sleep and the dangers of sleep deprivation.
American Sleep Association and The Huffington Post will be sharing information between the two platforms to increase awareness about the importance of sleep.
