Resltess Legs Syndrome (RLS) Awareness Week is sponsored by the American Sleep Association. From February 1 - 7, the ASA and its affiliates will be increasing awareness about RLS.

The primary objective of this campaign is to improve the nation's knowledge about the signs, symptoms, complications, diagnosis, and treatment options of RLS.

Newstations and Sleep Professionals around the country will be providing life-saving information every day during RLS Awareness Week.

COMPLICATIONS of RLS

- Uncomfortable sensations in the arms or legs that usually occur before sleep.
- The feeling is often described as a 'creepy crawly' feeling or 'pins and needles'.
- The sensation is temporarily relieved by moving or stretching the limb.


 

- Increased Risk of Insomnia
- Unrefreshed sleep
- Increased association of Periodic Limb Movements during Sleep. (PLMS)

Talk to a Participating Member about RLS and RLS Awareness Week
